Flair 58 Plus 2

A fully manual, direct-lever espresso machine with a 58mm portafilter, all-stainless steel brew path, and an integrated preheat controller with three roast-based temperature settings. This is a genuinely different category from everything else on this page, it's the only device here that makes actual espresso rather than filter or immersion coffee, and it costs roughly 15x what the next most expensive item does. You'll also need a separate espresso-capable grinder, a kettle, and a scale to use it well, none of which are included.

Buy This If

  • You specifically want real espresso, not filter or immersion coffee, without the footprint or price of an electric machine
  • You already have (or are willing to buy) an espresso-capable grinder, since this doesn't include one
  • You want a genuinely portable espresso setup, it unplugs to brew and travels well

Consider Something Else If

  • You want something easy to pick up and use well on day one, manual lever espresso has a real learning curve
  • You're comparing this to the rest of this page on price, at ~$699 it's in a completely different bracket than everything else here
  • You don't already have or want to buy a proper burr grinder, kettle, and scale, all of which this requires to perform well
